As the year is ending, I find that I am trying to make sure that I am able to include the kind of experiences that I want before the year ends. Weeks ago, I was told that there was a prayer circle at 1pm today at a Native American center on the northside of Chicago. Unfotunately, the schedule changed and mass was held at 11 AM, and so, I missed it. I’m sad about that, as I wanted to experience some sort of Native American worship services as part of my 2010 project, but alas, it is not to be. Definitely in 2011.

Funny I went to a Catholic Native American gathering on Saturday night! (not a joke). It was very jubilant.
Posted by maeyen | December 21, 2010, 3:28 pmI did go inside the sanctuary and it was beautiful – in addition to the crucifixes, there were dream catchers on the wall. Even though I missed the service, I was invited to eat (and they were throwing down in the kitchen – lots of great smelling food). I didn’t join, though because it felt weird to sit down and eat even though I missed the service!
Glad you enjoyed your service – I look foward to experiencing some sort of Native American worship experience in the upcoming weeks.
