After a year of knowing that I had to find a place to worship, and more recently, having a targeted list of places that I wanted to visit by the end of the year – I am wondering what I will do this weekend? Go back to my home church (which I went to for a New Year’s Eve service)? Another Catholic mass (they are happening all day, every day), or go to a church in my neighborhood that I can walk to. The possibilities, of course, are endless.
What is your suggestion? Is there a worship tradition that you are curious about that you would like me to try? I am happy to be your worship adventurer :-). Just let me know!
I’m intrigued by the African Hebrew Israelites. If you are brave enough to check em out, I’d be delighted to read and learn more about their community. I believe this is some information that could lead to their service http://africanhebrewisraelitesofjerusalem.com/contact_us.htm

Thanks for your post and your suggestion – On August 7, 2010, I visited Beth Shalom Bβnai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation (House of Peace for the Children of the Ancient Ethiopian Hebrews) in Marquette Park. I will be happy post my thoughts on that visit next week! I will also check on The African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem – Chicago Community, and see if I can visit there soon and let you know what my experience is like!
