So, I finally finished Mere Christianity, by C. S. Lewis. It was dense, but I powered through! It was an interesting treatise on Christianity, and I am quite sure that in order to get all of the teachings from that book, I will need to read it again.
I am ready for the next book, and hope you are ready too!
Sitting by my bedside, in a stack of books I have meant to read and re-read is Kahlil Gibran’s masterpiece, The Prophet. The date in the inside flap says 3/98 – meaning that is the first time I read it. I look forward to reading it again. So, The Prophet is the next My52WOW Book Club book.
In the front flap is a quote from the Chicago Post about this book:”Cadenced and vibrant with feeling, the words of Kahlil Gibran bring to one’s ears the majestic rhythm of Ecclesiastes…If there is a man or woman who can read this book without a quiet acceptance of a great man’s philosophy and a singing in the heart as of music born within, that man or woman is indeed dead to life and truth.”
I look forward to reading the music, the poetry, and the wisdom of Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet.
