In the past few weeks, I have visited some new places of worship, and returned to some that I visited during the first 52 weeks of My 52 Weeks of Worship. I have made some new friends, and reconnected with some old friends! I hope to start blogging more often so I can share all of these fantastic experiences with you.
I visited the San Francisco Bay Area for a book signing in Oakland, and while I was there, I visited the Church of All Russian Saints, a Russian Orthodox church in Burlingame, California.
The next week, I re-visited Urban Village Church, a church that I attended for the first time during the first 52 weeks of this project, and that I have visited many times since then. I shared the My 52 Weeks of Worship Story and stayed for discussion – where I met some people who shared their stories with me!
This Sunday, I am returning to a place that I visited during week 38 of the first 52 weeks of my project: Lake Street Church. At that time, I participated in a Kirtan ceremony. This weekend, at 10:30 AM on Sunday morning, I will return to attend the Living Buddha, Living Christ Service. As stated on the Lake Street website, www.lakestreet.org, the service of worship and celebration will continue the Lake Street Church tradition of honoring (their) interfaith relationship with the Buddhist community in Chicago. Chicagoland friends, if anyone would like to join me, let me know! I will tell you all about it afterwards!
